First comment spam post, after only a few hours. That has to mean something.

Well we just launched our site last Friday.

Or shall I clarify, we just aquired a new domain that had expired. On Friday, all of the details were finalized with our registrar and we switched the DNS to a freshly installed Drupal website with no content.

We began setting up our pages and adding some basic redirected content this morning and after less than 4 hours we have aquired our first comment spam.

Now normally comment spam would annoy me, but we have not installed mollom yet, which once it is set up, will effectively block all of our comment spam as it does on our other websites. And the fact that we got something means that our site is being indexed (even if by a spam bot).

This is definetly a good thing because in the SEO world, the more attention you can get the better. Obviously we would like the right attention of our target audience, but when you are just starting out, even a spam robot is better than nothing.
